Taylor’s Version: How To Reconsider Taylor Swift’s Transformative ‘Speak Now’

Taylor Swift‘s “Swifties” are listening to her speak again with the new version of her 2010 release, “Speak Now.”

Swift released her third, “Taylor’s Version,” album on Friday (July 7). She did this to regain artistic ownership after the sell her original master recordings in 2020. “Fearless” and “Red” came before it.

Taylor’s Version of “Speak Now” includes re-recordings of the original 14 tracks, plus two bonus songs from the 2010 release (“Ours” and “Superman”). The main songs like “Back to December,” “Mine,” “Sparks Fly,” and “Mean” stay true to Swift’s confident vocals with a polished sound.

Swift’s references to “Speak Now” have been low-key, except on June 24th, when she mentioned the album while performing “Dear John,” and she asked her fans not to harass John Mayer, the song’s subject.
