Shawn Mendes & Justin Bieber Unite For “Monster”

 Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber’s new song “Monster” isn’t just about celebrities says Mendes, “it’s about the human experience.”

“Monster” is a song that Mendes had been sitting with for quite some time, however as he developed a relationship with Justin the “Wonder” singer the song “just started forming properly,” says Mendes.

The song details how people put celebrities on a pedestal and then watch them fall and how hard it is for celebrities to deal with. Justin knows this first hand as he just detailed his experience on his latest release, “Lonely.” Shawn Mendes says Bieber is the reason he started singing and doing “Monster” was a full-circle moment for him.

“He was Elvis to me,” said Mendes.  “…to have this very human to human conversation with him and his truth to come into that song and my truth to be there, it feels like one of the most special songs I’ve ever wrote. [sic]”
