Patriots, 76ers Owners Team up with Jay-Z and Meek Mill for Criminal Justice Reform

New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft, Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin and Brooklyn Nets co-owner Clara Wu Tsai have teamed up with rappers Meek Mill and Jay-Z to form REFORM.

According to REFORM’s press statement, it aims to “drastically reduce the number of people who are under the control of the criminal justice system while keeping communities safe by changing laws and public opinion.”

Kraft, Rubin, Wu Tsai have each pledged $50 million along with Mill and Jay-Z and other board members to see REFORM’s statement become a reality.

Mill spoke publicly about his hopes for the alliance saying that he hopes that REFORM will “change outdated laws, give people hope and reform a system.”

Do you think that criminal justice reform will get more attention and action now that some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment have come together for this initiative?
