Cat Janice, a TikTok star who documented her battle with sarcoma cancer has passed away at 31.

Her family expressed gratitude for the support received and noted that her music will continue to provide for her son. Janice initially dismissed a lump on her neck in November 2021, but it grew significantly by March 2022. Despite briefly being cancer-free in July 2022, she announced a resurgence in June 2023. Janice entered hospice care in January and her song “Dance You Outta My Head” achieved success on TikTok and Billboard charts.

Cat (real name Catherine Ipsan) facing the end of her life, Janice wanted to publish her last song, “Dance You Outta My Head,” that began as a bonding moment with her 7-year-old.

She asked the proceeds from the song to be directed to her 7-year-old son. She raced to release the music on Jan. 19, the day before her birthday.

“I did not even know if I was going to be alive when this song came out, at the time. So I just kind of did it, and now here we are,” said Janice.

“And honestly, it’s a miracle.”

Cat has been trying to make a name for herself in music for several years, and also sharing her journey with cancer. Unfortunately, that journey is coming to a close after it returned and spread to her lungs. She is now in hospice care, but put all of her songs into her young son’s name.

@cat.janice #duet with @Kat I love you thank you for sharing!!! ❤❤🥰🥰 we love you and MK and following all your adventures 🥰🥰🥰 thanks for dancing with us!! #danceyououttamyhead #cancer ♬ Dance You Outta My Head – Cat Janice

She asked her TikTok followers to stream a new song she wrote for her 7-year-old son Loren, so she could leave him the proceeds.  She wasn’t sure she would live to see “Dance You Outta My Head” released, but even better…she learned it was charting on iTunes.

So every stream of her songs will benefit him. You can stream it HERE:
