Sometimes it’s the little details that make a big difference.

Case in point, Netflix and their intro sound. Turn on the streaming service and you get a bass-y thud. They call it the “ta-dum.” It could have been a bleating goat if things had been different.

Todd Yellin, Netflix’s VP Of Product, told the “Twenty Thousand Hertz” podcast that he and his team seriously considered a goat bleating as part of the intro. Yellin explained “It was funny, I thought it was quirky, and it was our version of Leo The Lion. And so for a while we were stuck on that goat sound. I thought that would be a good time.”

The goat would have wrapped up the “ta-dum,” but sadly, after testing it out for a while the goat got the boot.
