In the wake of a tragic event that shook the community, Midlands Gives is an incredible day to join Serve & Connect as they honor the memory of fallen officers and supports their families. On April 29th, four officers lost their lives, and four others were injured during a gun battle while serving a fugitive arrest warrant in Charlotte, North Carolina. Among the fallen officers was Deputy US Marshal Thomas Weeks, who dedicated over a decade of his life to serving his country.

To honor Deputy Tommy Weeks’ memory and support his grieving family, a fundraiser has been established as part of Midlands Gives. This initiative aims to provide assistance to Deputy Weeks’ wife and four children as they navigate this difficult time. It serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers and their families in the line of duty.

Just ONE of the incredible organizations featured in South Carolina’s day of giving. Serve & Connect truly underscore the importance of coming together to support both the fallen officers’ families and the ongoing efforts to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

While donations to a variety of charities can be made at any time, Midlands Gives Day offers a unique opportunity for donors. Contributions made online during this 18-hour window are amplified, encouraging more significant support for the participating nonprofits. To date, the initiative has already raised over $1 million through nearly 4,000 donations.

Midlands Gives Day officially kicked off at 6 a.m. and runs until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, providing ample opportunities for individuals to contribute to the causes they care about.
