Columbia Mask Ordinance Passes
Columbia City Council passes mandatory mask ordinance with amendments to focus more on making sure masks are worn inside commercial businesses where social distancing isn’t possible.

Columbia City Council passes mandatory mask ordinance with amendments to focus more on making sure masks are worn inside commercial businesses where social distancing isn’t possible.

The ordinance goes into effect June 26th.
Face coverings will not be required under the following circumstances:
- Inside personal vehicles
- Alone in enclosed spaces, during outdoor physical activity (provided the active person maintains a minimum of six feet from other people)
- While at home alone or with family members
- While eating, drinking, or smoking
- When wearing a face covering causes or aggravates a health condition
- When a person is 10 years of age or younger
If you violate the ordinance you could face a $25 fine.
