Box Office: ‘Star Wars’ is top for third week, ‘Frozen II’ breaks records
Over the first weekend of the new year, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker continued its reign at the top of the box office. The film pulled in another $33.7 million dollars in ticket sales. The second highest-grossing movie this weekend was Jumanji 2: The Next Level, which made $26.5 million. The third spot was occupied by Greta Gerwig’s interpretation of Little Women, pulling in $13.6 million. Number four was horror flick The Grudge, which debuted this weekend with $11.3 million in ticket sales. The fifth spot was taken by Disney’s Frozen II, which has become the highest-grossing animated film release of all time, bringing in another $11.3 million at the box office.
